The following post provides tips on Essential products to help you survive a festival as a female.

Festivals are great. We get to escape our day-to-day lives for a long weekend, to be surrounded by friends, fun and the music we love.

As fun as they are, they can also be difficult for us females for a lot of reasons. I have just come back from Bloodstock Open Air, a metal festival in Derbyshire, where I camped from Thursday – Monday, and I have come up with a list of must have products to help you survive your festival, so you can have more fun, and less problems!

Please see below to find out more!

Feminine Wipes

Now, with festivals, we don’t always have the option to be able to use a shower, and if you do you may have to pay, or the line for the showers are incredibly long, which isn’t ideal.

Something I used every day at my most recent festival is feminine wipes. I used these all over my body daily to clean myself, and to make me feel a bit fresher in the absence of shower facilities.

Please see links to 3 examples below;

  1. Rael Flushable Feminine Intimate Wipes – pH-Balanced, Unscented, Aloe Vera Extract, Safe for Sensitive Skin, Vegan & Cruelty Free, Travel Size (10 Count, Pack of 3)
  2. Balance Activ Intimate Wipes | Biodegradable, Flushable & pH Balancing | Natural Extracts of Aloe Vera, Mallow & Calendula to Soothe & Reduce Discomfort | 20 Wipes (Pack of 3)
  3. Femfresh Intimate Wipes – Flushable & Biodegradable Disposable Feminine Hygiene Vaginal Cloths w. Calendula & Aloe Vera Extracts – Soothing, pH Balanced, Hypoallergenic, 25 Count (Pack of 1)

Bum Bag

Something that was a LIFE SAVER for me during the festival was a bum bag. They are small, discreet, and means you can have your hands free. No lugging a big back about on your back, and accidentally hitting people every time you move.

Just pop all of your valuables inside, and put it around your waist. Simple!

Please see links for 3 examples below;

  1. Bum Bag Waist Fanny Pack – Long Keeper Large Fashion Bumbag for Women Men, 4 Pockets Adjustable Waist Bag for Running Hiking Dog Walking Outdoor

  3. Eono Water Resistant Bum Bag with Multi-Pockets, Large Capacity Waist Fanny Pack for Hiking, Dog Walking, Travel & Outdoor Activities

Camping Trolley

There is nothing more stressful than when you get to a festival, and you wonder how you’re going to carry everything to the campsite. Tent, sleeping bag, clothes, food, shoes and everything else!

Something I used this year was a camping trolley. They are incredibly practical as they fold up and when you are ready to use, you can unfold it, put all of your things in it, and pull it to your campsite.

One less thing to worry about!

Please see links to 3 options below;

Comfortable Shoes

When it comes to festivals, there is one thing you can guarantee, and that is you will be on your feet ALL day.

An absolute MUST-HAVE is comfortable, and supporting shoes, so you can go about your day without worrying about having sore feet.

I personally prefer wearing walking boots, as they are supportive, comfortable and if someone stops on your feet when you are jumping about, it doesn’t hurt as much!

Torch/Lights

An absolute must have is to have some sort of lighting, to either keep on you, or keep in your tent, or both!

I kept a torch in my bum-bag, so I could find my way back to my tent in the night, and I also had a small light for inside my tent too.

Some of the toilets also don’t have lighting so, having a torch on me at all times was very much needed.

Toilet Items

Festival toilets are not very nice. It is just a fact. Especially after a few days, when they have been used, and they aren’t the cleanest.

They can be very off-putting, especially to someone like myself who is a bit of a clean freak.

I have compiled a list of must-have items, which can help you with your toilet trips during a festival. From toilet aids so you don’t need to sit down, cleaning wipes, portable hand soaps and toilet rolls.

Collapsible Water Bottle

Something very important as festivals, is to keep hydrated! Especially as most festivals are in the summer, and are very hot!

There is nothing worse than having to carry a bottle around with you all day, keeping you from having your hands free to do things!

There are many options out there for collapsible water bottles, that you can clip onto your bag/bum-bag, and they fold away really easily for when you’re not using them.

Very practical!

Portable Phone Charger

You can find yourself using your phone a lot at festivals, taking pictures and videos and before you know it, your battery is low.

Power bank chargers are a must, to keep you charged up and ready to go, and the good thing is you can plug your phone in while you’re out and about.

They are small enough to keep in your bag, and you can plug in and go.

Rain Poncho

Poncho’s are compact and so easy to throw on when needed to keep you nice and dry.
